What has the Court of Justice done for me?

“The Court of Justice of the European Union is the judicial body of the EU. Its role is to ensure that EU laws are respected by the EU’s institutions and Member States and applied in the same way throughout the whole of the EU. This ensures that the EU is based on the rule of law, a fundamental element of all democratic entities.” – Quote by the Court of Justice of the European Union –

On order of the European Commission, we created four explanatory videos about the Court of Justice of the European Union, which describe how the Court of Justice works, what it does for its citizens and why it exists.

Headed by design and motion graphics studio “DONDON” in Berlin, the concept was to create a 3D-Pop-Up book, which was stage to illustrate meanings and behaviours of the protagonists and organs in the judiciary system of the EU.

My task was to visualise the storyboard, so we could plan the technical joints of 2D and 3D elements within AfterEffects and Cinema4D. Then I worked out all icons, drawing elements, their animations and interactions in detail – as well as the introductory animation and parts of the 3D animation.

All films had to be translated into 27 languages afterwards.
